Buick V6

Has anyone done a Buick V6 swap? Perhaps one with a turbo?? I'm curious as to the cost of building approximately 500hp engine.. anyone done it? I've seen build-ups on hotrod.com but its like a 700 almost 800hp engine. I'm not looking for quite that much.
Thanks

Re: Buick V6

I'm currently working on a turbo buick swap, do a search and you'll find a bunch of people who have done it. You can do a search on Turbobuick.com too. Look in their hybrid section. As for cost, If you have a complete running buick engine and wiring harnesss, it's not too bad to get it in and running, it's all performance upgrades that cost the big bucks. There are limited sources ofr performance parts for those engines. TA performance, Gbodyparts.org, Cottons performance.com, and Hartline are prob the best places to search for parts. I started with just a bare 3.8L short block and have been buying the rest of the parts from ebay and various suppliers, the expensive way to go. Just for your info, the buick 3.8 block was used in Buicks (obviously), Oldmobiles and some Pontiacs. The block I used was from a 86 Olds cutlass. Good luck, and keep us posted.

I for got to mention, you'll want the block casting ending with 109. those are the best, and strongest of the 3.8 blocks.

Oh okay thanks man. I'm really interested in doing it but I don't know what to do yet. I love the thought of a turbo V6, I'm just worried about the performance parts cost..
