Re: What do these numbers mean?

It looks like a mess to me...

Best I can tell, it says 135 hp 2.8 V6 with multiport fuel injection and 3.42 rear.

Good is a relative term; I like 3.42s, others don't.

Re: What do these numbers mean?

Why do you have to drop the rear to get the tranny out? Also what are you doing to your car? Rebuild? Rust repair?

Re: What do these numbers mean?

im pulling the engine and trans out to swap a V8. got to unbolt the torque arm, and the book says to take out the rear end springs, unbolt the cross members, and loosen the torque arm in order to pull the engine and trans, so that the arm doesn't twist the axle. but the under body is rusted, and the fuel lines are rusted . so i was going to take it off anyways.

I'm going to take the engine out

the rear end off, the front suspension off, flip the car over and por 15 the whole under side, then start to rebuild with new/refurbished parts. if this car dident have sintemental value id buy one in better shape.

If you jack the body you can take the bolts out and the tourqe arm axle no problem.

Re: What do these numbers mean?

ive always taken the torque arm out w/ my car up on jackstands and just jack the rear axle up till its as far up as it can go. then unbolt it at the differential first, pop it loose, and then unbolt it from the trans. works for me.
