Should I convert my 3.1 over to MAF?

So I put on a snorkel from an 89 camaro and it's got the MAF sensor on it. I was going to go out and cut a piece of pipe to fit in it's place tomorrow and sell the MAF on ebay. But then... I read in a couple threads that the MAF config is better than speed density. Is this true? If it is, is there a way I can just pop in a computer from a 2.8 and install the plug and wires to the MAF? Has anyone on here done this?

The wiring is quite different. Its not as simple as "plug n play".

You would have to either cut and redo the ends. Or get new plugs and repin that.

Honestly, alot of people swap to SD. But then I guess some swap back to maf :shrugs:

In the OBD2 form that I am learning on mine. The SD is best for down low and partly reads the maf. Then MAF only for higher up(4k n up in OBD2).

So I say install a system that is best used for the rpm/style driving you do. For me, I hardly get above 4k, so the SD is best in my use.

thanks for the info. I'll just stick with the SD then. I don't do much fast driving. or WOT for that matter.
