WO HO! new motor mounts.
I dont think i will ever do the motor mounts on one of these cars again but its done now, and what a difference.
My old mounts didn't have any rubber left between the metal halves. If you hit a bump the motor felt like it was trying to leave the car. now its smooth ya almost cant feel that the motor is running. (Also helps with burnouts.)

Re: WO HO! new motor mounts.
well i say that but i think i have it figured out well enough that it really wouldnt be that hard to do again.
the main thing was getting the proper tools.
How i did it was jack up the car and put the jackstands under the frame rails near the trans tunnel, removed the jack.
then i took the nut off to the front A-arm bolt and loosened the rear bolt, put a jack under the front bushing or somewhere near it, pulled the bolt out accompanied by some choice words, then let the jack down, the front of the A-arm will move down 3-4 inches, this will give you enough room for the front 2 nuts to be removed with a swivel socket and 2 6" ext. the rear uper nut can be removed from the hole near it and 1 ext.
Before removing the nuts remove the mount bolts and lift the motor using your prefered method.
with the motor high enough and the nuts off the old mount will come right out real easy. then just put the new one in and then start doing everything in reverse.
the hardest part i had was getting the motor to line up with the driver side mount. it keept trying to rotate. so the pass side would line up but the drivers side would be to low. after using a carefully placed peice of wood to force it over i still had to fight it to go the last 1/4" so the bolt would go in.
this is probably not the safest way and i am probably missing a few steps as i just kinda did it as i went.

Re: WO HO! new motor mounts.
I had one heck of a time trying to get my motor to sit back on the mounts after the rebuild... my dad and friend were finishing up and decided it was alright to just hammer the bolt into the passenger mount, since it wouldn't slide in. Now that mount is shot and is vibrating like crazy. -_-
Did you use the poly mounts or stock replacements?

I need to replace mine too. I noticed the other day that 2 bolts are missing so one side of the motor is pretty much sitting on the k member.
