Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
Hey all,
I am in need of a muffler..
Let my mother borrow the car, and it comes back with a hole in the muffler
!!!
anyway.. all the pipes (even the muffler) look pretty new, still nice and silvery, My mechanic Suggested Replacing the whole exhaust with somthing straight back little/no bends.
The exhaust pipe seems pretty thick for a little v6,
How much could I look to gain on a bone stock engine, by switching to
straight back?
Will just replacing the cheap muffler on there now, with dynomax super turbo Make a noticable difference? Apparently these flow almost perfect.
And If i wanted to do straight pipes later, I could swap this dynomax onto there so I wouldnt be wasting money, right?
Car is a 1988 camaro 2.8

Re: Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
I'd put the Dynomax on there. It is at a good volume (isn't too loud) and sounds pretty good. I had one on my car but went with a Magnaflow muffler, I wanted something louder.

My sister has the DMax ST full kit on her 86 Camaro 2.8 L. It sounds decent for a 60* motor. Little more power after it was put on. Sorry, no sound clip since she never drives it much here and lives away from me.

Re: Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
i just recently replaced everything from the cat back on my 2.8. I went with a Thrush chambered muffler from summit. I think it sounds absolutely awesome for such a small v6, very nice rumble at idle and it isn't raspy throughout the RPM's. Here's the link

I'll try and get a clip of it for you. You'll be surprised, especially at such a cheap cost.

Here you go. Sound quality isn't the greatest, but it'll do. The sound gets quiet at times for some reason, filmed this with my digi cam.

Thanks for that sound clip... that sounds nice man.
So, turns out im going full on dynomax ST catback...
So now its got me thinking... how restrictive is the stock cat?
is it a bottleneck on this machine?
