I looked it up already. You can use EDIS on any car with megasquirt. Coil packs are hot.

To use the MS1 on our GM's, you will have to use a selenoid type IAC valve. Some people even use EGR valves.

They also have universal crank triggers .

since you seem to be one of the supporters of megasquirt I have afew questions that I'm having a littl hard time finding.

does it support staged injectors off rpm? I have 4 injectors 2 per rotor. the first two are used through all rpms and are batch fire, the second two are staged to only come on at 3800rpms and higher.

will it work with an existing CAS or would you need to adapt to one of their sensors?

also can these accept both MAF and MAP readings at the same time, or is it one or the other or map only?

the bypass selenoid driver will it work with a PWM style? i see it says open/close style supported stepper not. I'm just not sure if this is one of those that only opens so far and has a premetered amount and just holds it there or if it pwm style they are refering to.


I see this " Remember, MegaSquirt only controls fuel, not ignition. " but then later on it seems to betalking about controlling ignition or maybe I'm misreading. any help there?


one last question is do you know if it can fire two injectors for a four cylinder motor at two different pulse widths?

msnextra will do staged injectors

ms1 by defualt is a fuel controller only,but if u load it with msnextra code instead of the base ms1 code it does fuel and ign,not to mention it cona also then control nitrous,meth control/launch control,traction control etc

as far as if it will work with exsisting sensors ur best bet is to look on msefi.com and ask on the megasquirt forums

MS1 is only PWM. Ms2 supports stepper IAC. I think that's what you are asking?

The difference between megasquirt I and II is the processor. The MSI uses an older processor, while the 2 uses a much faster processor with integrated stepper motor and CAN support.

MSI has a very large support base and a killer firmware, msextra, that will let it do about ANYTHING. MSIIextra is in beta, and still lacking in features... However standard msII firmware will do everything you need.


The standard msII firmware can do :
speed density
Alpha-n
alpha-n speed density blend
MAF
MAF/SD blend?

With the 4bar MAP available from them, why would one want MAF?

I donno just have never been a fan of map. seems to be less adaptful to conditions by itself vs maf. could be wrong though.

been trying to get the megasquirt site today and have had problems doing so even the forums. could just be a work thing though for the moment.

only other question I really have right off hand though is support for two different types of injectors at two different pulse widths.
sorry don't mean to be a thread stealer but I have seen you guys post before and so you seem to have some good info on it.

By different injectors do you mean high and low impedance at the same time? I do not think this is possible with the current code.


You could always use a power resistor inline with the low ipedance injectors and just use the high impedance setting.

hes asking if the 2 diff sets of injectors can run at diff pulse withs.

i belive the second/staged set of injectors have there own fuel map,but im not 100% sure on that

Yes, it is dual table. Two independant VE tables for each injector driver.

if your curious as to why look up the CVCC for honda. two fuel ratio's two combustion chambers per cylinder. too lazy to switch to a head in canada even more so being I don't live near t here. that is why I would need two injectors of two different sizings and pulse widths
