Best sounding muffler?
What is the best sounding muffler for our cars. Anyone use a muffler besides Flowmaster or Dynomax. I got the Dynomax but it's a little to quiet for my tastes and I heard Flowmaster isn't the best muffler performance wise. I want to get something louder for my 2.5" Dynomax cat-back after I got my header bolt fixed.

Ive been listening to the Borla stingers. Im a big Flowmaster fan but I'd drop them in a minute to run the Stinger. Only way I can describe it as having a solid sound unlike the drone Flowmaster or crackle of other types.

im not sure if u can just buy a borla camaro muffler,i think u have to buy the whole ex system from borla.though im sure somone knows for sure about that.
and yes the spintech will allow u to keep the dual tail pipes, though i dont have a part number offhand for the spintech but i can get one tom

No muffler sounds like crap. I like a loud smoother sound than what you get from straight pipes. DD with a muffler, racer without.

I have a flowmaster 80 series on my 3.1L firebird. It's got a nice rumble at idel and is pretty loud at any rpm when driving. Ive headerd a 3.1L with no muffler and it sounds horrible. For a loud muffler i would go with the flowmaster. But ive never heard a borla so i dont know if they are worth it. If you want just stupid loud on a V6 Ive seen a SLP Loudmouth hooked up to a 2.8L and it was loud sound could be heard from down the street.

Not that loud. Just something I can hear in the background when cruising down the interstate.

Then the flowmaster would be perfect without a doubt. About $80 for the muffler. How are you setting it up the cheapest way is to get a dynomax 2 1/2" cat back piping, clamp the flowmaster 80 series and have dynomax 2 1/2" tailpipes with clamps.

The only downfall of Borla is the price. They are one of the most expensive. Youll never have to by another system if you buy Borla unles you crush it or something, they will last forever.

The Borla sounds nice but its probably out of my price range. I might stick with my Dynomax after I fix my broke header bolt when I can hear the exhaust over the motor.

I have a 3.1l with the 80 series flowmaster, it sounds pretty hard-***.
And the pipes are tucked up real nice.

Does anyone know if flowtech are any good. I don't really have the money for a flowmaster right now because the car doesn't even run. I need to get a tranny, alternator and exhaust from the cat back and much much more. I put a flowtech red hot glass pack on my neon and it sounds good for a 4 cyl. It doesn't fart at all. So I was considering getting a dual outlet flowtech muffler for my Camaro. Thanks.
