woot gota love it when new parts show up 3.4/alum heads
just got in my 3.4 core engine, and a brand new set of aluminum heads.
anyways i have a few ?'s about the 3.4
#1 what are the stock cam specs
#2 the worked rods out of my 3.1 will drop right in right?
#3 is the 3.4 also rated to 7,000 rpms like the 2.8/3.1
#4 nothing to do with the motor but who makes really good clutches for the v6 cars im thinking about swaping the auto for a stick this time around but am a lil concerened about burning up clutches
this motor is going to get built for the rs and will be have the aluminum heads and be turbo charged of course

1. h260? i cant remember though, its been a long time since i looked at 660 cams. i think its a step below the h260, but not much.
2. yes
3. crank/rods yes, valvetrain i dont know.
4. i think centerforce makes some, dont know though, im far from needing a performance clutch at this point.

Centerforce makes a clutch for us, actually a couple of different types. The dualforce IIRC, is the best. Will give lots of holding power over stock and should be able to handle added horses and torque.

IC: 111.5
Valve Lift: .394/.409
Rocker Ratio: 1.5
thats for a stock 3.4 cam
ive got the centerforce dual friction clutch. its pretty good, but if youre into 12s already, i doubt shes gonna hold up. i remember hearing of another company not too long ago, and i wanna say it was posted somewhere on here that makes one better than that.

What you really need to do is invest in an entire clutch system that's not stock. You can get systems with really high hydrualic assist so that you can run super high pressure plate ratings and still have a feather-light pedal. That's how the new 'vette does it. Don't just think of upgrading the clitch itself, think about the entire system.

thats the clutch i was talking about.
the paint is Testors transparent candy apple red. i bought a small spray can. when i tried to separate the lens from the housing, it broke without hardly trying at all. what i found works great is some heat. i put mine in a paint booth when we baked a paint job at 180 degrees for like a half hour. as soon as i pulled it out i separated it, it came apart so much easier, still gotta be really gentle w/ it though.

right now the plans are to build the 3.4 with ported aluminum heads, custom crank/rods/pistions and boost the hell out of it(getting a massive t-70 turbo),and spray the 35 shot to spool the turbo
but if that dosent work out ill have to run the 3.1 with the iron heads, which i dont think the crank/rods can take much more power,to be competive with the iron headed 3.1 id have to lose about 500-600 pounds out of the car,and spray at min a 50-75 shot
