Fuel pump Q
I have a 92 Z28 and I am pretty sure it is in the tank. You can purchase an in-line pump that would still pump fuel through your old pump if you think you are having trouble with it. I have over 140K on my car and it still works OK.
But, If I have to replace it I think I will drop the tank even though I've heard it isn't fun.

The fuel pump is located in the tank..not an easy task when replacing.I did mine recently ,I purchased an AC Delco EP-240.The fuel filter is just underneath the drivers door,or just in front of the LR tire.

Better hope its a fuel filter and not the pump. Before you go and drop the axle, and tank to get to it, I would make absolutly sure that the pump is the problem. When you are inside the car (with all AC and stero off so you can hear it) turn the key to the on position. You should here a wineing noise for a few seconds. thats the Fuel pump primeing. If you got a fully charged a battery and you Don't hear that noise I would start checking fueses and relays, and the wires to the pump itself. Probaby using a voltage meter.
If you want to rule out the posibility of it being a ignition problem, you could use a spark tester, Or remove the hose for the air intake, and open the throttle and shoot some starter fluid in there (just a little dont want to damage anything or catch something on fire) If it starts with the starter fluid for a while, then ya its probably a fuel problem.
I had just bought a camaro once that didnt run, and Like a dummy I went through all those checks, and went ahead and droped the axle and tank and replaced the pump only to figure out that it was just fouled spark plugs even though they looked ok to me. some of them wern't. be sure that they are in the best condition they can be in as well.
