you will be driving it for a long time if you take care of it and your engine is fine i still dont think thats a knock you are hearing and you have very low miles on that car

my 85 trans am had a lg4 305, bought it with a slight knock with 82k, sold it with 112k with the same slight knock, lucas oil additive seemed to have taken good care of it, expensive but useful...ive seen 2.8s running 125-200k without rebuilds, mines currently got 72k, slight valve or maybe lifter tick...

yeah its super thick, around here its like 7-8 bucks a bottle, add the 1 quart of it with 4 quarts of the motor oil you use at every oil change...i used 10-30 and a quart of lucas in my trans am, and if for some reason i couldnt get lucas, i ran 20w-50. they say you can run more lucas but as you will see, the stuff is thick as jelly, shouldnt need more then a qt. thinkin i might start runnin it in my 2.8 with the quaker state high mileage 10w-30 i run.
----------
every oil addative ive used has sucked and caused more issues, except lucas, i like it.

it didnt totally stop it, it masked it for me ( quiet it down ), it only knocked at super low rpms after i ran the lucas, but it definately IMO kept it from getting worse, and let me tell you 14-18 year old kid with that car, i totally spanked it every mile i drove it.

Exactly right, it could be 5 minutes, it could be 5 years, you don't know until it blows up.

its not a bad knock if it is, but if it goes out it gives me an excuse to buy a new motor and go through everything.

Transmission: Tremic6060

Keep this in thought though.. I personnally will never use the stuff, If its as thicker then honey, then it will most likely stick to the lifters/what ever else, and not flow back down too keep everything else from getting lubed...

its actually about as thick as honey, good comparison, but if you only use one quart it doesnt stay that way obvisouly because it mixes in very well with the 10 30, and when i change it after 2500 miles, it comes out just as quick as just the 10 30 alone. its not like were running 5 quarts of lucas in the pig...every mechanic around here reccommened it to me for my bird.

I still wont use it in my engines... Ive talked to people at my local car club that have used it, Their PERFECT motors took a dump after they put in one quart of that stuff, (all in old 60's and 70's camaros, stangs, cudas, ect ect)

84 trigger, what kind of oil are you running now, if its just a regular conventional oil, id think about going to valvoline max life, or quaker state high mileage, (red containers) these too seem to help my motors, my daily driver is a 1995 toyota camry i bought from a grandma january 2005 with 60k, now i got 90k and at 3000-3500 mile oil changes, it still is fairly gold in color, not black at all, i also run it in my maro, with the same outcome, and i did run it in my t/a before i sold it. ove rall its good stuff...
