put a 180* stat in it,some engines like to run when there colder others like to run better when there warm/hot the only reason to run a 160* stat is if ur running high compression and alot of timming in an engine, the cooler temps help prevent detonation , if u need a 160* stat to keep ur car from getting really hot/overheating there is something wrong that should be fixed, instead of running the colder stat to keep it from overheating

A 180 should be fine, nut if you go much colder than that, you might run into issues. If you install it and run into a problem with decreased milage, go back to the stock 195*. Also, just for your knowledge, the 180* t-stat might not make it run any cooler in the city or stop/go traffic as the fans don't come on until in the low 200's anyway.

i run the 160* stat just cause of the higher compression and cam my motor runs hotter then normal but as long as im moving over 10 mph i never need to turn my fan on, the worst thing about having the 160* stat is like now in the winter it does take forever for the car to warm up( so i drive in 2nd until the car gets warm)
ur gauge has to be wrong fastrs stock is 220* or 225*
