2.8 vacuum and emission

Probably basic stuff, but Ive never messed with these 6's, only SBC's. CAn I just removre all of the vacuum lines and emissions BS off the block, and plug the vacuum ports off, run just the 2 or 3 lines that are necessary?

I would generally call that a bad idea on any vehicle without a working knowledge of exactly what that "emissions BS" is, what it does, and exactly how it isn't hurting the performance of the vehicle at all leaving it where it's supposed to be so long as the vacuum lines are not broken and the components are operating correctly.
