Engine Rebuild, whats involved?
Ok...Im a lowly high school student about to graduate and head off to college. I drive a 92 camaro 3.1.
Just recently my car has started driving generealy bad. After its warmed up it starts to bog down when i step on the gas. And the engine has been getting failry hot considering its still cool weather outside. It has also started burning a lot of oil.
I want to have a reliable car when i go off to college, but to buy a whole new car seems out of the question money wise. I was playing around with the idea of an engine swap, but with gas prices I wouldn't be able to afford a v8 in college. So that leaves me with finding a 3.4, or rebuilding my current 3.1.
I was curious what is involved in rebuilding an engine, and are there any good upgrades I could add during the rebuild to add a little more power.

IF you are in LA, CA area I got all the 3.4 ya want
Get a low milage used running engine & just swap it in.
Better effot & basically way low cost, too.
PS used mills go for $210-$900
PS Better deal is to really sell your ride & go get a better running car for the saved money
EITHER WAY you WILL be spending about $1,000 on engine swap or MORE for rebuilding.
Try labor of machining & cost of parts
Done two swaps, I had the time & the money & love my rides.
Good luck
Find my thread about 2.8-->3.4 long block swap boogie & read it. Find out what ya need do before ya pick up a wrench.
AND YOU CAN ALWAYS buy another FBody after college!!
