Car: 1989 C4
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 307
Need help, what tools needed for AC compressor removal?
You guessed it pick-N-pull trip for an AC compressor for the Camaro, serpentine conversion. If anyone can tell me what tools I'm going to need to get this compressor off I'd apreciate it. The P-N-P is 12 miles out of my way and you know what happens everytime you have somthing half pulled but need to leave or when you bring a whole bunch of tools.
The doner car is a 87 or 88 V6 bird if that helps with the tool selection required.

That's easy
15mm box end, open end wrench, long sockets/deep sockets/short sockets/extensions/ratchet
13mm same specs
MAYBE A 17mm
ADJUSTABLE WRENCH (10" long & 6 " long)
Pry bars
KNIFE/HACK SAW to cut the belt (WHO CARES IT AIN'T YOUR CAR!!!)
The hose bolt in back is probaby the same as one of the fronts.
Penetrating fluid.
Gloves/rags/back pack to toss the compressor & tools into for carrying all this stuff.
The "pros" have/bring old Radio Flyer wagons for hauling stuff in the yards.
PS I bought rebuilt compressor for $150. Works perfect. R-12 ain't cheap! And old compressors usually leak outta clutch seals. Use old compressors as cores, is best bet.

Yea I seen this compressor last week. I did give it a quick check to see if it was still working and for oil/freon leaks, everything was dry with no dirt stuck to any of the fittings or around the compressor, it even had R12 fittings still . So it should be good but if it leaks the $12.99 compressor will make a nice core. I just dident know it would fit my V8 setup until friday night since the guy told me the interchange book said 91-92 only and since thats what my serpentine brackets came off of I was under the impression the mounting holes were in a different location. Since Ive learned otherwise and its a stupid electrical connector difference at most I could have been cruising the Camaro this weekend . I just hope its still there monday.
