strange squeeling bird noise

Axle/Gears: 10bolt 3.42s
strange squeeling bird noise

when i start up my car cold it makes a strange chirping noise coming from the ac compressor area...and it goes away after its heated up....any clues?

Sounds like it could be your fan belt is loose or worn. Check the tension I think you should olny have about a 1/2 inch of play on the belt.

mine does that

on mine the noise is coming from the air/smog pump, when i had my exhaust fitted we didnt bother routing the pipe from the pump in to the exhaust not sure if this is your problem but its definatly mine.

i bought a new belt im gonna install it tomorrow let you guys know then.

ok its in and no noise so it worked..just took some strength and blood

Hey, I have the same squealing bird noise. Excprt mine seems to be coming from the transmission. The trans also has made some other noises that frighten me at times. It is 1992 with the TH700-R4. Oh yeah, the engine has around 160,000 miles on it, and the transmission is stock.

myvmax1 Is it when your engine is cold and sounds like a chirping sound/squeek? If its not in gear does it still do it. If so you need to rebuild your distributor. In all honesty i would not worry about i have a new one to put in but havent gotten to it and mine has been doing this for about 4 years.

my trans makes a cat puking noise intermittently, a ticking sound at low speeds, and no od bands until 70kmph.

only 120,000 kilometers on the thing too

mine makes a loud squealing sound when I go from rev-park-1st gears... no sounds in park though... wonder what the heck it is??
