~ Accel 17lb./hr Fuel injectors for a 2.8 ~
So I want to replace all of my stock injectors with new ones so i'm debating whether i should get these accel 17/hr. I know that that some people have put 3.1 injectors on a 2.8 with no problem so I shouldn't have a problem with mine. Only thing is i have heard some bad stuff about accel fuel injectors, mainly the 26 so i'm looking for other options on what i should do. Heres the link to what i want to get, if anyone has them let me know if you like them or not. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...l+injectors+17

Lots of people here will get the used injectors of their choice and send them to Rich at Cruizin Performance. he'll clean and flow test them so they're good as new. this would probably save you at least $150 over the cost of the Accel injectors. If cost isn't an issue, they'd probably be fine.

Ya the cost isn't an issue right now, i'd figure i'd save time finding the injectors that i want, the 3.1 ones from a junkyard, and the downtime of my car for a while. Hopefully they'll perform as good as the ad says -- but you never know until u put them in.

Further proof is the flow test on my 2.8 injectors from Cruzin Performance, which averaged 15.45pph.

Some 2.8s came with 15s, but most came with 13s.
Actually, the 15s are more like 14.6 to be exact.
I currently use 17 pound injectors on my 87 automatic Fiero. I rebuilt my 2.8 with a 3.1 crank and rods. It actually runs quite well, but I get kinda crappy fuel economy.... then again, I don't use it as a daily driver.
Make sure if you get new injectors, you get the pintle style ones.... those are much more efficient than the disc style ones.

I just got the 15lb/hr. on the car, runs good, and ya there the pintle style ones.
One problem, car still takes a few times to turn over to get to run...now this happens when i turn off the car and try to start it again, before it would happen after a few hours (usually overnight)??? Going to check the fuel pressure again, but now i know it's not because of leaking fuel injectors.
