the EGR is still connected to the T/B, as are wireconnections.
I put a metal plate between the exhaust manifold and the EGR.
should i just go ahead a put a plate on the TB?

then you are getting a leak at that metal plate.

I would remove the EGR, and check to see if it is fully extended. That would mean it is closed. Then remove that plate, and replace the EGR, and remove the plug. That will keep it from operating.

How does your 02 sensor look?
