Sure the hoses for gas lines cost more, but I seem to be having a lot of trouble finding some of the sizes I need. The guy at the store said they would be fine, is he correct?

Yes, the neopreme hoses will work for vacuum applications... but why pay the extra money for those hoses when you can use regular rubber vacuum hose?
Vacuum hose won't work for fuel lines though; the gas will eat them up.
I'd say find another parts store that has what you need.

All you simply need find is the package that contains windshield Wiper Washer stystem hose.
IT's 5/16" inch exactly what ya seek
PLUS it's thick wall hose, perfect for vacuum hose stuff
AND the package even says Vacuum hose applications, too.
Find another store.
The stuff you got is not the proper solution.
Serious.
The fuel line hose is too thick walled for bending for your vacuum application.

on a side note, the fuel line is exactly what you NEED for your PCV hookup... you cannot use regular rubber hose for that... it would break down.
some fuel line even says fuel/PCV on it... athough if it just says fuel, its still fine.

The main PVC hook up off engine block?
I've been using high quality heater core hose there.
I was unable to find ANY OTHER alternative.
Plus the section is so short that it's basically a wrapper between the metal pipe & the plastic pipe.

Thanks for correction
Real quick without paqckage in fronmt of me, just seek out Windshield Wiper Washer hose, it is the correct size. And it will say also emission hose on packaging, too.
