Loud Ticking\Exhaust sounds off

My engine is makeing a loud ticking noise. It sounds like a spark electrical tick but it seems liek its comming from one of my injectors. My exhaust also sounds not like it normaly does and i have a rough idle. IS there a way i can tell if it is an injector? Im going to do a tune up on it anyways but i dont think it has to do with the ignition.

It could be an injector (verify with a mechanic's stethescope, or a long screwdriver touching the injector and close to your ear), but a loud ticking is usually an exhaust leak, esp on a 60 degree V6. They are known for exhaust leak problems. I have had good luck using Fel Pro header gaskets, even with the stock manifolds.

It sounds like it is comming from under the intake plenium. Today i drove it and i didnt hear any ticking but my exhaust sounded like rump rump rump insted of being a smooth sound. Im going to do a tune up and see if that helps. When i opend the hood i didnt hear any sounds of an exhaust leak.

I know i have a small one by my EGR valve but i need to buy a whole new EGR to get the gasket i need. And i dont wana pop 200 for a part that works but needs a 10 cent gasket.

$200 is a little much for an egr man, $60 at Auto Zone or Advanced.

Nope 200 at Autozone. Its the digital EGR not the normal ones that all the other V-6's run i have a 3.1 not a 2.8. If it was 60 bucks i would have purchased it a long time ago.

There was a guy selling those egr's on ebay. I got mine for like $30 plus shipping. There used but it was good so i'd look there. I had the same problem. I looked for 2 weeks trying to find that gasket.

Call up KAY AUTOMOTIVE in Van Nuys (an AC Dealer) & they will have that gasket, I'll bet!
IF it's an exhaust leak, they "don't go away!"
You have an aged engine & the lifter "sticks" then reacts "proper".
Your engine is aging & on way out, eventually. You got good years outta that mill!
Will a tune up help? ONLY if ya haven't in last year.
ALSO
open hood at night to check IF ya NOT have spark plug wire "shorting". That's "sounds" like what ya described, too.
More than likey, it just age catching up.
Just make sure ya not over heat engine (head gasket time then) and ya change oil 3,000 miles & MAYBE add one quart of 10-40, to the other 3, 5-30 upon refill.
