superchargers

there are two superchargers on ebay that will fit our engines. not for MPFI but TB or carb setups will work. I AM NOT THE ONE WHO HAS THESE FOR SALE but i thought someone here might be interested. i am interested but dont have the money or correct motor setup. moderators, if this needs to be locked, go ahead. if any of you look and can't find them and want links, let me know.

MMmaky.. since my chat with Dirk and gaining an understanding of this whole ebay problem, the primary problem with using ebay links in technical threads is ebay deleting old listings.. so they're pretty useless in the long run for any sort of tech thread... so, here's a copy of the description and one of the pictures instead.. this will also give you keywords to search for now and a year from now to help you find one of these elusive items...

SUPERCHARGER Whipple K/F fits 2.8L Fiero and other GM 2.8L engines. Previously used on 2.8L V6 Fiero lubricated from engine system. Adaptable to various carborators. In good condition USED includes necessary pulleys and belt.

Alot of good technical information on the blower in this one... GOOD future reference if anyone ever gets their hands on one

This 1985 B&M Forced Induction Supercharger System is built specifically for a Distributor, Carbureted 2.8, 3.1, or 3.4 gm 60 degree V6. It is primarily designed for rear wheel drive vehicles such as the S10 Truck, Blazer, the S15 Gmc Truck or Jimmy, the Camaro and the Firebird. The kit comes complete with a lower intake manifold, the blower, pulleys, hoses, gaskets instructions, bolts. Easy Install. The blower will raise the carburetor 5 inches from its original position. B&M also offered a Superjection Fuel injection system for this supercharger. Blower will run on stock engine. Boost can be modified from 5-12lbs of boost. 7lbs or more requires internal modifications. Blower can be used wet or dry.

Any reason why a supercharger made for a 85-88 fiero with a 2.8 wouldn't work for our cars? I found one that bolts where the A/C compressor is supposed to go. Comes for 8psi boost but can be set up for as much as 20psi boost. Quite an expensive setup though.

http://www.rsmracing.com/us/main.htm

Go through the links to get to the Fiero page.

I wouldnt see why you couldn't make tthat one work except for the fact the power steering would be in the way. The air ducting would have to be redone but with some work I would say it could be done.

grrr, my state needs to hurry up and get a lottery. Only way I'm going to beable to get this stuff.

I bet that fiero one could be made to fit where my smog pump use to be.

These companys really need to still offer these. People are still using these engines all the time. I more so would enjoy seeing an intake mounted s/c with mpfi abilitys.

i have an idea that i would love to fab up for a mpfi roots style sc. unfortuneatly, my motor is not currently built for boost nor do i have the funding currently to do such a project. i am always looking anyways and just happened to stumble across those two. as badly as i want one, i can't do it right now...oh well.

what situation are you refering to? if you mean the motor not being built for it...the reason i said that is cause i don't want to try to run any boost on 10.75:1 compression...not a good combo. otherwise, the motor is plenty healthy and would take it with no problems.

Having an idea that you want to try and not having the money. I know you have a much higher compression ratio than the rest of us.
