heater core question

would it be possible to bypass the heater core by connecting the two coolant hoses together? if so would this cause any problems?

Yes you can, and there'd be no problems. Hose sizes will be slightly different though, one is 5/8", other is 3/4". Might as well just loop a new section of 3/4" hose between the water pump fittings.

Do you have an 82-86 or 87-92?

On my thirdgen and wagon, I ues them plastic flush T connectors they sell in the prestone flush n fill kit or alone off the shelf. [autozone sells just the plastic T fitting and cap] I use the biggest 3/4 one and have no problems getting the 5/8 hose to seal. Just tighten down the clamp well. I have never sprung a leak.

Every summer I do it to both cars.
