Will A V6 MPFI Cam run Mech Fuel Pump?
Does anyone know of the CAMSHAFT on an '86 Camaro 2.8 MPFI has the lobe to run a mechanical fuel pump?
I am taking the motor out of my friends '86 and putting it into my '84 GMC Jimmy with a 2bbl and mechanical fuel pump.
I know on alot of Small Blocks they don't have a lobe for the fuel pump if the engine was FI.
Thanks!

If the block you plan on running is from an MPFI or TBI engine, it doesnt even have the bolt previsions for a mech fuel pump. Best bet is to go to a small gpm electric pump, and put it inline back by the tank.
But orginal question, as far as I know, NO.

If you're just going to convert this motor to carburetor, then I suggest just going with a cheap electric fuel pump. Purolator sells a nice one that runs at a consistent 4 PSI of pressure. They have another one that does 5 psi of pressure too.
Their fuel pumps are small, inexpensive, and last forever. I have one in my 81 TransAm with a 350 V8 (4-bbl 600cfm carburetor) and I have one on my 1973 Volkswagen Transporter (1800 with 2-bbl webber carb).
