Hey All,
Please, by email, keep reminding Mr. Gerle that you are after a product from PaceSetter Exhaust Systems.
Keep reminding him you want to give him money.
Keep up the pleasant pressure so we don't loose this opportunity.
That's why I send a quick "how is this project coming" email, once a week....

We have several volunteers now, myself included, if timing permits.
The project has not been scheduled yet,
SO
PLEASE
Keep the kind pressure on Mr. Fred Gerle at PaceSetter.
The more people sending kind emails and keep saying "we want to buy this street legal 60* V6 header for the third gen F Body chassis", project, the engineering part will start.

Keep writing a kind short note OFTEN!
That's why I send him a note every week or so.

fgerle@pacesetterexhaust.com

If Mr. Gerle hasn't responded, send a sort follow up note.
Remember, as you choose your words, Mr. Gerle at PaceSetter is the one that can say yea or nay on this actual product "chance" that still seems to be happening!

How soon?
Ask Mr. Gerle in a short note!
I'm hoping for Christmas (which is only 4 months away!).
KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS!
This can happen!

I am curious to know why this venture fell to the wayside?

Did they not get a volunteer? Or did Pacesetter deny it because of lack of interest?

I notice "techsmurf " is from Arizona and has a 2.8 + another vehicle. Do you know about this and would you be interested in lending a car for a few days?

My only interest is to see a Smog Legal set of headers available to the Calif market. If that is offered, then other parts will become available.

I am curious as well. I sent many e-mails to Mr. Gerle and then once I thought things were about to happen here, it died??

Maybe someone knows something?

HI Everyone!
I've been quite busy.
The house I've just finished & had "for sale" sign posted Thrusday has been sold for full price. I received my offer today Sunday.
I also get to do other personal business on Monday, too.
NOW back to this.
As soon as I get the heater core fixed, my ICM problem has also reappeared, I'm off to Phoenix for the fitting of the headers to my ride, the 1985 Firebird.
The others seemed to have flaked, but not I. My car may want to "keep me in town", not I
I NEED A VACATION!
Phoenix sounds pretty good right now.
I haven't spoken to Mr. Gerle for abit, but he is aware of my projects that demand my attention, first.
Keep sending Mr. Fred Gerle at
fgerle@pacesetterexhaust.com a quick supportive emil for this street legal project.
I'll be contacting him shortly, myself, during this week.

Anyone know of an Asphalt contractor that wants to do a driveway recoating? I need one for my house I'm selling & I sure would like it for less!
The "sold" house is in Van Nuys, CA

Everyone, DON'T GIVE UP HOPE ON THIS.
I worked my fingers real hard for this opportunity & I REFUSE TO LET IT GO AWAY! That's why, in the end, IF YA WANT SOMETHING DONE, MANY TIMES YA GOTTA DO IT YOURSELF! Ask me aout painting walls & sanding hardwood floors, too! Add landscaping, electrical, plumbing, designing, drawing permits......&&&&&&&&& LOL!
Hey 2.8, hope to be seeing ya real soon, too! Not promising exactly when, but I'll be there shortly & SOON!
Damn heater core, atleast it went locally!!! Not outta town!

Mine's out of the question.. my car is off the road.. and she won't be roadworthy till the turbo's on, and I'm sure as hell not letting Pacesetter rip apart my exhaust once that's done. Glad to hear you're on it, Karl =)

We got dead metal weight that go to the scrap heap.
Stop by the Van Nuys house as I'm now clearing out garage!
Maybe able to just toss it all to teh scrap yard over by B & M Tranny & let it be done.
Shame.
First issue Pontiac 350 stuff is worth the bucks, but, I'd say spend the few pennies & let be sold in Hemmings.
The block is probably repairable, too.
SURE WAS FUN STRIPPING IT DOWN IN FRONT OF YA, THO!
Stop by.

I do this real estate deal & I got another real estate deal in the works (which I sign for today Monday) & I'm seeking another house right away, too.
Before that mission to Phoenix, I need do the heater core work & swap in another alternator, too. Before I leave & I gotta contact Mr. Gerle, too.

EVERYONE KEEP SENDING KIND EMAILS SAYING YA WANT THIS ITEM, DON'T LET UP THE PRESSURE!
fgerle@pacesetterexhaust.com

Sure wish I could get thru to a tech person about ICM problem. I may be replacing the distributor, just to eliminate it, now.
Autozone sells the ICM for only $30, others want $40 & $50 for another brand name & no difference in performance.... I've been thru now 7 to know! It was good walking about 5-9 miles & being helped by two cute girls while broken down!

I just sent Mr. Fred Gerle my email expressing my desire to drive from LA to Phoenix, after all stuff settles down, for using my ride to mock up the headers.
The deal is for ONLY RIDES OF 1985-1992 MPFI vehicles, 60* V6 F body chassis.
No other earlier engine, models included.
I'll give a shout back with good news.
DON'T GIVE UP ON THIS SEND A KIND SHORT EMAIL KEEPING THE PRESSUE ON!

Karl, have you replaced the pickup coil, checked the reluctor clearances, and all that? And (silly, I know) you ARE remembering to use the dielectric grease between the distributor pad and the ICM, right?

Clean that pad, too!

Yeah, all is like ya mentioned.

Except wiping grease from distb base when I swapped in new ICM. This last swap was in dark & had to get rolling. Or else get ticketed & towed, what should I do?!?!?!?
ICM installed in less than 20 minutes.
I am considering a fresh rebuilt distb as that may, along with the fresh rebuilt Alt. to solve this BS
Just praying this all holds together until I can get rest.
I do need to do heater core swap right away & hopefully will do that real soon. I only need to get the hoses ordered from GM, after I do all real estate dealing.
In meantime, I just keep adding water, oh well.
Rest, where are tho?

I also just sent Mr. Gerle another email. I really hope this comes through.
I'd go to Phoenix but I'm in college rite now and it takes up all my time.

But I still manage to work on the firebird.

Well, we really need to keep up the pressure and show the demand, so keep sending emails guys.

The latest update is
THIS MISSION IS STILL A GO!
I got me a heater core, now seeking cheaper heater core hoses (in engine compartment, I ain't paying $10.50/each!).
Gonna swap in another warrantied Autolite rebuilt alternator & buy a spare ICM.
Gonna contact Accel to get another coil from them as that may be culprit (never know & I can swap that for free).
BIGGEST BUMMER
I smashed my windshield today moving a 10 foot wood beam in the car!
Atleast it's on passenger side!!!!!
I have to wait until after Thanksgiving anyway.
KEEP THE GENTLE & VERY KIND POSTIVE PRESURE ON MR. FRED GERLE AT PACESETTER

Keep those emails going!

Hey i got a new paperweight for my desk at work lol.. That tranny is also and orig th-350 tranny well it will kinda have matching numbers just the wrong year engine and tranny.

If you got your ICM at Autozone you know it has a lifetime warranty right... Have fun with the heater core it took me 11 hours to do i could probly get it done real quick now that i know what to do just more time consuming. Remeber on my car you asked why i had gasket maker around my firewall where the heatercore comes out. Put some foam rubber back around those holes somehow otherwise when your AC or Heater are on you will have air blowing out of there.

I gotta fix my camaro and keep it runnin til i can swap a 3.4 in you can hear a tapping in the bottom end. Sound like a bearing? At first it was my valvetrain you can definetly hear that but now you can hear the car make the sound old cars do with a cam if that makes any sence.

Makes lots of sense.
Keep driving girlfriends car.
DID YOU CONTACT THAT GUY IN LAGUNA FOR THE $150 3.4?

I now have to add to my list of things to do before I hit road...
I SMASHED MY WINDSHIELD!
Loaded a beam of 10 foot long wood, inside car.
I let it pivot for a moment & thought I was resting it on metal roof.
STUPID STUPID STUPID ME!
I once saw someone remove a windshield in a yard so I can score one at ok price. Install? I'll let someone else do that.
Atleast the smash is on passenger side!
I'm also gonna contact Accel as the coil may be making more resistance than should & it kills teh ICM. But alternator is easy swap for free from Kragen. Free ICM? If I have time, I'll fight for that too.
Just so busy wraping up this real estate deal......

For me the trip to Phoenix is one step closer.
I got my NEW heater core & the pre formed heater core hoses all in my hands.
Real Estate deal has entered ecrow so that's almost all off my mind.
After I band aid the heater core hoses (run them into each other, just to start drying out soaking wet interior floor!!!!!), I can get to the alternator & coil replacement.

See a new post for supplying all ya with AC Heater core part number & hose part numbers.

I finished Phase One of the heater core replacement mission.
I ended up using the new hoses & turning the curves toward each other & using a brass garden hose patch fitment to attach the hoses together.
This gives my interior a chance to dry out & I can drive car. Removing the core very soon, tho.
Dumb me also disconnected the fan blower motor ground set up & now I await Sat AM to let the engine bay cool off to reattach the fan ground.
At 100*, it's toasty & with working AC but no fan blower motor DUMB DUMB DUMB.
This makes me one step closer to getting to Phoenix!

Today I am buying new rear wheel cylinders for the brakes. I am having them installed MAYBE TODAY. I got my new used rear tires installed. I got my new used Firebird front nose painted.
I still seek one front tire & installation of the body panel.
Need to get additional ICMs for the trip. And a good spare tire, too.
Heater core mission is still a to be job!
TIMING WISE is getting really hard.
DESIRE hasn't slipped at all!
After this Thursday timing may clear up real well, tho.

ANYONE IN PHOENIX AREA GIVE A SHOUT WE CAN REALLY USE YOUR HELP NOW, SUPERMAN!

My car took alot of abuse while doing moving & delivering loads like this one.
Today is drum brake rear new wheel cylinder swap work at a garage (not by me, hurrah!). I may let them change oil & tack weld loose rear tail pipe.
I need supply TWO CORONA 12 packs for lower prices!
Next on list is new used windshield (@$70 for 1/2 work even on Sunday!!).
A new car battery, too.
Need one new front tire & good non-air leaking space saver tire.
Heater core mission is coming soon!
This weekend I'm retired again as the house for sale project is closed thru escrow & title transfers!

Hey Ked85, be sure to save all your old parts so you can build a beater version of your car to haul stuff around.

I sent Mr. Gerle an email and he said basically still waiting for a car

New used windshield installed in one half hour, yesterday. $70. Had them seal up the back hatch window so it won't/shouldn't leak, anymore.
Battery... Interstate Battery worth $65?
Wish steering linkage could be done/swapped real quick. Yeah, I know, pay for it, too!
Heater core mission to start shortly.
Thanks for keeping kind pressure on my Mr. Gerle.

Car: 85 firebird
Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
Im not trying to be doubtful about the headder thing but doesnt the idea that a large company like this can not make the headders unless one of us sends them a car to use sound VERY stupid? I mean my for example, My grandfather worked as an engineer making engine parts for jets,Each time they came out with a new part they didnt bring in a whole jet. It was tested with computer images and paramiters. The whole "bring me a car and well make them" Seems "*******" for a large co.

I look at it this way.
Street Legal Headers for our rides can happen, if they get a car.
I have one holiday & a heater core to conquer & then I may be able to split.

FAST RS get a hold of me by email please

Hey, I'm not working right now , if someone is willing to get me a room out there or something, then I can make the journey. I've already been out there once this year before this project began, but I'd be willing to go again. It's just the money aspect in having somewhere to stay that's keeping me home.
