Wider Tire purchase
Hi Guy,
Is there any one can tell me where can I purchase wider tire like 275/60/-15 or 255/60-15 on the net and they ship over sea. (I had try tirerack.com, they only ship thru UPS, it costs too much )
I am live in Taiwan, there is not rim for firebird to modify, so I can use stock rim only, I would like to put the wider tire on it but it is shame they don't sale tire wider than 225mm on the 15 inch rim so I may purchase from USA.......
Thank you
Joe

I highly doubt the stock rims would handle a 275 tire. They might hold a 255...but that's pushing it a little. You could definitely get away with 245's though..
Wish I could tell you a place that ships world-wide...but I don't know of any..never looked. Good luck man.

245/60/15s are the biggest I'd recommend. Any more than that, and you'll start rubbing on the fronts!

I ran my 275/60r15's on a 15x8 rim- in the rear only. Front's were, at first, P215/65r15's, then I went to P225/60r15's on a 15x7 rim (front).
When I ran P255/70r15's (before the P275's), I had to modify my rear inner wheel well, driver's side, with a sledgehammer. I assume that's why the P275's fit so well.

I suggested before.
Contact Bridgestone & tell them you want to buy their tires and in this size.
Their HQ is in Japan.
Taiwan is close.
Next is look in local business "yellow" pages for manufactures reps of tire brands. Deal straight with the head person.
That fails, try the Public Relations Customer Relations rep of the tires.
That fails go to head of auto importer rep and ask him for contacts.
That fails go to local race track (Formula One track in your instance, I believe) and ask how they get their tires.
After that, pay the piper!
UNLESS their is a tariff on the type tire ya seek, this selection should bring some positive results.
I have 245-60-15 in back. Would enjoy knowing if that fit up front without labor of swapping the rear tires to front!

I saw Yokohama tire 255/60-15 / USD56 on the Tirerack.com, but they ship with UPS only, it costs USD200/2 tires, I would like to know which store ship world wide (with /USPS) and accept VISA card. Thank you
