EGR Valve on a V6 '90 Firebird

My computer is telling me I have a problem with the EGR valve. I looked in the Haynes manual and it says that 90 and up they were digital and suggest having them serviced. I know I have a V6 but not sure about the liters. Its also telling me I have a problem with the IAC valve, but the book says nothing about how to change that.

Can anyone tell me what would be involved in swapping out that valve? And can a novice do it, or should I take it in?

Thanks!

Michael

I can't help you with the IAC valve but the egr is cake. Unclip the wires from the top of it, use a 10mm socket on the two bolts holding it down and pull it off. Reverse for install. Pretty freaking simple huh? Now you can tell your friends that you changed an egr valve all by yourself!
