can a MAF make a pop?
was under the hood of the car today, and as i touched the throttle i heard a popping sound. The sound didn't seem like it was coming from the intake manifold or under the plenum. I had the computer unplugged and i didn't hear the pop, plugged it in, heard the pop . unplugged the maf , no pop. plugged it in, pop. What's my issue? is the MAf crapping out on me. ... And, i did check the timing also and it's set to a beautiful 10* adv. So, that's definately not my problem, and that should also mean that i don't have issues with say a timing chain...it was pretty steady.

Thanks wayne, are there any other things that would cause a car to backfire? In other words, other things i should look at...being that it took me like 6mos to find the damn EST...LOL. What else should i look for as a cause for the backfire.
