do we have a MAP SENSOR???
hmmm do we have MAP sensors....91 3.1.??? if it does, tell me all about it...(where it is, what it does, how much it costs, commoon problems with it, how to fix it..etc etc) THANKS A MILLION GUYS

Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
yes you do have a MAP sensor
it located on the passenger side of your engine bay below the cowl
it looks like a little rectangular pill box with a vacuum line going into it
if anything goes wrong with it, it has to be replaced, its not serviceable
i'm not sure on a price but:
their not much
go to www.napaonline.com to get a ballpark price
what the MAP sensor does it messure the pressure (actually pressure differential) change inside the intake manifold
because as engine load changes, so does the vacuum inside the engine

well i have been trying to track down "one hella vacuum leak" for some time now, but i have not had the SES light go off. i checked for codes with a paper clip.....got only code 12's. so is there any way to check the MAP sensor????

Engine: A slow one & a fast one
Transmission: A bad one & a good one
Axle/Gears: A weak one & a chained one
You can probably see if it's output is on par with a multimeter...but how to do that is beyond me...I'm not good with electronics. Bought my digital multimeter and I still havent found a use for it yet..this stuff's over my head.

Yeah, the GM Service Manual ( http://www.helminc.com ) would tell you how to measure the map with a meter.
