reseting computers???

Car: 1987 Pontiac Firebird
Engine: 2.8lt V6
Transmission: TH700R4
reseting computers???

how do you reset the computer. Im going to replace the O2 sensor, and i heard that you have to reset the computer. Is this true?

Take off your battery cables and let the car sit for 5 minutes and the cpu is reset.

Well, you don't have to reset the ECM when you replace an O2 sensor..........but if you want to reset it and not lose your radio presets, just pull the ECM B+ fuse which is located near the front of the passenger side fender. This will cut power to the ECM but not the rest of the car.

I always pull the fuse 'cause to reset the presets is a major biatch on my sterio. Not to mention the clock.. GESSH...
