Muncie Swap?
Any one everput a muncie transmission in a thirdgen? I have a BBC(450hp) and a third gen. I was thinking of using a t56 but ive heard its not strong enough, so i was guided to Muncies. Any one have info on swaps?

yeah, i've give you this much to think about, how you going to do the hydrolic to manual clutch and what you going to do about te torque arm? i'm sure it's been done but there are a lot of easier ways to do it, i'd look at a tremac or a m6

I may be wrong here but according to the website for this board the 82's with 4 speed standards had saginaw's and it says muncie but I doubt that since they stoped producing muncies in 76-78 I forget. That 4 speed sag should have side shift levers with manual clutch linkage. It would be best to find an 82 4 speed, swipe the parts from that and then pop what ever transmission you want in.

i dont know if you are talkin about using a muncie from another thirdgen camaro (if they were muncies, not saginaws), but me and my dad built up a 1963 nova with a 396 BB chevy, and put in a 1965 muncie-we have about 425 HP/460 ft.lbs of torque-it handles it just fine.Muncies are good for just about any street car, but suck for drag only applications. They were the preffered 4-speed in the 70's,especially in big blocks.
