A picture to fuel the V6 T5 used with a V8 fire!

This is my LG4 305 with a V6 T5 bolted to it right before it went into my 87 Firebird last Saturday. Now lets argue! Just kidding, Im just excited to finally have the engine in the car. This swap has taken me a year due to time and money.

You probably won't have to worry about breaking it, any more than you did with the stock motor. After all, they did put the T-5 behind L69s (such as mine) which were rated low at 190 HP. You will definitely hate the gear ratios though, unless you have 2.73s in the rear.

You don't really need that big counterweight thing, your car willl appreciate losing the 10 pounds.

ONE good power shift!

I had a 4 banger T5 in my Mustang and I ripped 3rd gear to shreds with one good power shift. Now I have a T5-Z...we'll see how that goes.

I dont plan on doing any power shifts!!! It'll get used hard but not that hard. Itll only be there till I can get a WC T5.

Was your 4cylinder T5 behind a 302?

I'm guessing you're using the V6 clutch with a V8 pressure plate?

Nope. I had the V6 hub put into a V8 disc, with the V8 pressure plate. The V6 disc is 9 1/4" the V8 is 10.4.

The V6 tranny bolts up to the V8 bellhousing?

I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my '88 350/TH350.
(I'm only making about 300HP/350TQ, I don't have posi [no traction] and I don't powershift)

I can get a V6 T5 (non WC) for $96, they've got two (I think I'm gonna pick up both just in case).
