4th Gen Aluminum Driveshaft

Ok ive seen a few aluminum driveshafts for some 4th Gen Camaros and firebirds on Ebay lately so i was wondering if they would be compatible with my 85-Z... cuz if it is then im gonna be gettin one :rockon:

Car: 82 Firebird SE

Engine: 350 CCC 4bbl

Transmission: T-5

Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt, 3.23

As long as it is coming from a LT1 or LS1 f-body, you can use it if you have a 5 speed or 700r4 trans. The TSB on the 4th gens used a 3rd gen 1LE driveshaft. Any one else, am I correct? Good luck.

I just bought one...

I just bout one out of a 2000 TA, and posted the same topic about 4 or 5 days ago. They said it would work....I believe they're correct. Look in The Summit Magazine and you will see an aluminum driveshaft that fits '82-up V8 camaros. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope that da#$ vibration stops once it's installed....

yes...i heard the same about surplus 1le driveshafts used for 4th gen recalls...i have a aluminum shaft from a 97 formulaworks nice but i never had any vibration....just wanted the lighter unit:lala:
