You want the SGI-5.
It's simple as hell to wire up. Just run the two wires from the VSS to the box, and then tap into the instrument cluster wiring for the +12V and Ground signals.

Lee...
I think the best thing to do would be to calculate your MPH for a given RPM over a large range (say 1000RPM to 5000RPM) in first gear, and then use a scan tool on the ECM to verify that they're correct. This isn't an auto tranny; there's no guesswork involved and you can calculate the MPH directly from the RPM. Start out with the 1.0 setting and go from there.
Oh yeah, use the RPM information from the scan tool as well... don't trust the tachometer. The best way to do it is probably on the jack stands with the cruise control engaged
Once you have the ECM reading correctly, recalibrate your speedometer to match. At this point the SGI box is functioning properly, so don't fiddle with any of the switches

Uhhhh... you can't use a speedometer cable with the T56. It's all electrical. I suppose you could get a cable-X box, but why?

Unfortunately, you either have to get a cable X box (which I understand is ~$300) or the dakota digital box (~$150 I think) and some sort of electronic speedometer, if you're going to switch to a T56. If you can't afford either, you'll have to just base your speed on the tach until you can.
