TH350 swap
Hi guys
I’ve swapped out my TH200c for a TH350 trans in my 82 Z28. Do I need to swap the shift cable and shift brackets on the trans as it seems stiff trying to put it in park and the reverse lights are on when I put it in neutral.
The kick down works fine just seems like the actual trans shift doesn’t feel right.
Thanks in advance from Alan in the U.K.

Re: TH350 swap
Sounds like a combination of the way the cable is routed, and/or its adjustment. AFAIK there's no need for a "different" cable.
The reverse light switch is on the shifter. Which if the cable is misadjusted, that's why it isn't properly synchronized with the transmission.

Re: TH350 swap
I put a th350 into a th200/crossfire trans am in the late 90s. We originally used the stock cable and had issues with alignment between shifter detents and gears. We ended up with an adjustable cable. I remember it being more frustrating than it should have been to get it aligned.

Re: TH350 swap
I moved the bracket that’s attached to the trans that the cable sits in. I moved it forward about a quarter of an inch and that seems to have solved it. My shifter lines up with the indicator a lot better now and it all seems good. Thanks for asking.
