TCI Streetfighter 700R4 LockUp question
I recently received my streetfighter tranny that I have been waiting for. With the TCI literature that came with it, it says that the Torque converter lockup is wired to work with a vacuum switch (pre-mounted on the tranny). It further goes on to explain that if you want to use it with the computer, the tranny needs to be internally re-wired. I called TCI tech dept. They said that not using the computer would not cause the computer to act up. They suggested plugging into an existing vacuum port or tapping straight into the TPI plenum, running a steel line to the switch, connected with rubber tubing. Then the exact lock up point can be adjusted on the vacuum switch. Anybody done this or know if this will work on my computer equipped 350 TPI?

the vacuum switch sucks *****, just rewire it with the parts from your old trans to work witht he computer, or wire it to lock in 4th gear automatically. like so...
just put the negative wire on the solonid in the trans to the 4th gear pressure switch(inside trans) and the positive to the weatherpack connector. on the outside just run a igniton wire to the weatherpack connector, and thats it.
