Edit: batwing usually refers to the weight on the flexplates.

Re: T-5 swap gone bad
Both are for 1pc rms, so I believe either would be correct. TPI cars got the lighter flywheel and the TBI cars got heavier piece. Performance wise I would think one would prefer the lighter flywheel. I have a flywheel from an 2wd 87 Chevy truck that came with a 1pc rms sbc and a 4 speed. I will dig it out tomorrow and see if/how it’s different.
i changed to the lighter flywheel on a clutch swap when i was running a cammed 305 and i did not like it.. no momentum on take off. went back to the heavy one

The one with the small counterweight that compensates for the change in the crank flange from 2 pc to 1 pc.

Re: T-5 swap gone bad
****UPDATE**** so the vibration problem has been solved.... It was a simple fix. The one piece RMS 5.0 takes a NEUTRAL balanced flywheel... Dont care if the flex plate has the butterfly weight on it... Finally had the chance to swap out the standard balanced for the neutral balanced and reused all the hardware and NO balance... Im thinking the information on this subject should be updated so others dont run into this issue. Thanks to everyone that offered advice on the subject it was much appreciated.
