700r4 to T5 speed "O" issues
Like the title says I have decided to stop trying to make my 700r4 work like I want it to and just put in a 5 speed. The issue is I have a 91 with an electronic speed 'o'. Is it as simple as just transfering it from the auto to the manual? Oh and I want the speed 'o' drive gears rite too. Something I couldn't do with that 700r4.
Sorry this is a new relm for me. Needless to say someone if I get rid of it will get a very expencive cheep trans. I have done everything to that thing several times. I could have put a 6 speed in it for what I have into that 700r4. But a 5 speed out of an 85 305 will have to do. I am giving it one chance to work. I am going with a middle of the road clutch for now to see if I like it.
I am getting excited to start work but it is finialy summer and it is a convertible and it is made to drive so maybe I'll do it this winter.

You will need new gears. A 7 tooth drive gear that can be hard to find PN 14071731 and I forget what VSS gear you need for 3.73 but I know it is even harder to find.
When my friend did a similar swap he used a cable speedo gear PN 3987921 for his 3.73 then used a converter I think it was this one

If you have 16" wheels you need a 7 drive and 21 driven.
For 17" and 18" tires you will need a 7 drive and 20 driven.
These are for a T5 only.

I have Blue drive gear and a 19 driven.
I have 3.73 rear end and 275/40/18 tires do I need 20 driven?
What about the electronic speed sensor will that just bolt up?

Yes a 7 tooth drive and a 20 driven. If you have a cable drive T5 then yes a stock 3rd gen VSS will bolt up, but you have no choice on driven gears for a VSS. What you have on your VSS is it, the driven gears for them are discontinued.

It is at the shop. If it doesn't work where can I get one? I also need the gears for the speed'o'.

Re: 700r4 to T5 speed "O" issues
I Found a place that makes a system that screws into the exsisting speedo.
Now I need the rite gears..
I have a 3.73 ratio with 275/40/18's. The drive gear is blue.
