Name that noise - T5 load in gear something hits floor
on the way home, turn, shift gear as as I apply load I hear something hitting the pass side floor pan, does it with each shift, and doesn't sound nice, yet the car moves just fine long as Im slow on the gas.
Got under with a flash light and couldn't see anything wrong,
it will do it in the drive way in any forward gear, not R.
first thought was tranny mount but the stick should be jumping around if so ....

Ruined torque arm bushing? Does it have the secondary crossmember?

I got under it with a jack, didn't get it way up but enough to inspect cross member and such, nothing would wiggle.
would not the shifter handle move if it was the trans mount?

I would expect the shifter to move if the trans mounting had any failures. But if there was some failing related to the end of the torque arm, or even a sloppy bushing, that could make noises without affecting the shifter.

Change the trans mount.
You've already spent longer telling us all about why it's not the trans mount, than changing it would take; and you've also probably spent more on your Internet service doing so, than the mount costs.
You're time money and effort behind ALREADY. Quit arguing. Your car is no different from everybody else's that needs a trans mount.
Change out the mount.

gotta be tranny mount, had a truck with the same issue and when I got this car it had a rub mount on the tunnel from the driveshaft due to a bad tranny mount, didnt even bother trying to drive it and I spent the whole $6 on a mount

Well its deff most likley maybe it, till I can get a jack under it that wont sink to china come to think of it, it did make some softer noise when letting the clutch out. Like it was working it self lose.

Re: Name that noise - T5 load in gear something hits floor
I had a problem like this once. my problem was the torque arm came out of the mount, would hit everytime I gave it gas in forward gear, not in reverse since the torque would be applied downwards.
and if you really wana make sure its the tranny mount take a crow bar or something and pray up on the tranny and look at the mount for gaps, see a gap replace the mount.

And we have a WINNER, DARKmj16 was spot on.
Cept the bolt had come lose with time, mount was fine.
sofakingdom you were wrong and a total butt, keep being you.......
I put some teflon tape on the bolt to maybe help it stop from happening again, last time it was apart was about 10 years ago so its been a while, but its so greasy down there, locktite ain't gonna work.
Funny how a part on the left, sounded like it came from the right, must be the shape of the tunnel throwing the sound.

But at least you FINALLY GOT OUT AND LOOKED AT IT INSTEAD OF ARGUING, eh?? Amazing how productive it can be to actually DO SOMETHING.

Easier fix then I thought, didn't or wasn't going to try and helio-col it in place or drop it. Came up with a fancy like exhaust clamp, that holds the clam sheel shut, but also hold the bolt into the hole tight.........
