T5 input shaft diameter
It appears, when shopping for a throwout bearing, that there are two options for a third gen camaro with a t5/v8 combination. One being an 1 1/8" input shaft and one being a 1 3/8" input shaft. I believe that my transmission has the 1 3/8" shaft, which is odd because I seem to only see people reference a 1 1/8" shaft on here.
my question is, is it possible that I have a 1 3/8" input shaft?

Re: T5 input shaft diameter
Never seen or heard of a 1-3/8" input on a T-5.
The V8 ones in these cars are 1-1/8" with 26 splines. The 6-cyl ones are something smaller, with less splines (14 I think but I really don't care).

I've never heard of a 1-3/8" input shaft either.

Re: T5 input shaft diameter
confirmed with micrometer, the ID of my throwout bearing is indeed 1 3/8"
the bearing that came out of the car has an ID of 1 3/8" and the new one does as well.

Re: T5 input shaft diameter
That's probably about right. The bearing rides on a sleeve around the input shaft, not the input shaft itself.

Not sure what's "confirmed"...
The TOB rides on the clutch gear bearing retainer, about an inch BEHIND the clutch gear splines.
If your T-5 is from a V8, its clutch gear splines are 1-1/8" x 26, same as everybody else's.

Re: T5 input shaft diameter
No, I found the problem. The problem is that the companies describe their throwout bearings differently. Some call it a 1 1/8 shaft, yet the throwout bearing has a 1 3/8" ID, and some call it an 1 3/8" shaft BECAUSE the throwout bearing has a 1 3/8" ID.
