LT383 and the XFI280 cam..what's a good stall?
Hey guys I have a new question. The LT383 is in full effect and I'm thinking of a new converter to get the most out of it. I already have an EDGE 3200 that I was using with my ZZ5.0 but now I'm stepping it up to an XFI280 camshaft. Would the 3200 be enough or will I need more stall? I'm not building the car to be just a straight line car but an all around/road race style car. I MIGHT step up to a T-56 much later down the road but I haven't fully decided as of yet. So with that cam what is a good stall to use?

That will work ok. For pure straightline it will want more for absolute best 60 foot but tighter converter on street and road course would be beneficial imo.
I would say 3600-4000 with that cam with good heads. If heads are so so, 3500-3600 is a good compromise.

I have a 385 with the 280xfi. I have a Huges 3000 converter, but when looking at my datalogs I see its really flashing to 4400. I'd rather it was more in the 3800-4000 range like Orr said.
