Burnout help

One of my buddies with a thirdgen was asking abiut me doing a burnout, so i tried. my wheels wouldn't spin and the tach stopped at 2000 rpms and would just hold there. New engine has 30,000 miles and new trany has 24,000 so is there something im missing in the equation?

Re: Burnout help

is motor pretty much stock, or built? takes a little power to turn 3.23's, stock motor may not do it. plus, it also means that back brakes might be working real well. remember, when power braking, rear brakes are engaged as well as rear.

I snapped a cam on the stock 305 so its the GM Goodwrench 350 with roughly 280 HP around 100 more than original but the engine is all original from the crate if that's what you meant. My buddy has the '92 RS with a 305 and could spin his but I'm sure we have a different ratio in the rear.

Re: Burnout help

Hmmm... Mine is pretty much stock, not even running as well as it should, and I can still spin my tires...

Im more or less concerned with the engine not actually going up in RPMs, i can't even get a good chirp of the tires since its not going too high

Re: Burnout help

I guess you could line lock it if you have that desire bad enough.
