T-56 VS. TR-6060 which is better
This guy has a 6060 on Creig list for 600 out of a c6 vette. Witch is better I now all t56 are not made the same from viper to mustang ad the same go for 6060 new zr1, G8 GXP and so on. I now its just a updated t56 (I think) I read u can make a 6060 out of a t56. Is it just a small upgrade like 700R4 to 4L60E or is it just way stronger like T-400 to 4L80E. Will this be the new swap for 3gens will t56 drop in price to a WC T-5.

the 6060 is hands down the better transmission, in every aspect they are superior.
I dont think t56 prices will fall due to increasing availability of the 6060

There are a number of differences in converting the C5 and C6 transmissions to work in a bellhousing / slip-yoke application like the third-gen. It's do-able, but not for $1200.

So why won't the t56 go down like all the other trans did did u know how much 4L60E cost back in 2000. I think it would fall as they are now u can get a t56 if u lucky 800 or lowwer. T56 been out for what 20 years or more. On that note price have not drop that much lol

The T56 is still very contemporary with regard to ratios, strength and fitment possibilities.

Not to mention there is ALOT of demand. And in most circles, it's the G o d of transmissions.

Re: T-56 VS. TR-6060 which is better
For most older vehicles it is still the easiest 6 speed tranny to fit. Think about it, no more Pontiac so only Chevrolet brand to use. What does Chevrolet actually have for a V8 rear wheel drive Standard transmission car. Forget about the Vette as long as the trans is mounted to the rear and you are now left with the new Camaro only. This gives us a smaller # of other transmissions to use. So basically we have the T56 up to 97 for older motors. For the newer motors we have less options and fewer standard trannies available to use.
An 01 Camaro in Dallas was advertised as having a T56 from a Pontiac G8 I believe. If this was right the T56 is still a very relevant and current transmission.
