THM 250 and 350 Differences
I know the 350 is a beefy trans and is always prefered by most over the THM 250, but I have a questions for the smart tranny guys.
From my research, The THM350 does not have a center support. GM had plans to adapt the THM350 to the Corvair (my interest) and a mid-engine Corvette, but it went out of production. There is not much information on the THM250 except was used behind small cars and weighed less. Wiki and others says its the same as THM350 except for interm. clutch pack and lighter/weaker components.
My Question: Does the THM250 also lack the center support like the THM350 and does anyone have the weight difference?
My project: Adapt to the Corvair. I have a THM350 for the project, but it weights so much, I wonder how well a 110HP motor would do pushing a THM350 (I have read 30HP vs 15 with the THM250).
Any information would be great. I have hit all the normal sites as you see above.
Thanks
Ted
