Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

I have a Lakewood bellhousing on my car and was wondering if an adjustable clutch fork pivot was needed or not? Tranny is a tko600. Anybody have to change the one that Lakewood supplies on it? I would rather know now instead of having to tear it apart again.

Also, can the stock clutch fork be reused?

The 15020 takes an 84-92 V8 F-body fork.

If you have it on your car and it didn't require one before, it won't now.

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

i used the adjustable pivot with my lakewood bell and tko. I believe its adjusted almost all the way out? its been a while since i put it together. Never tried the stock pivot, since i never had one.

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

I just kept the pivot that came on the bellhousing on it. I haven't driven the car yet, but when its running, it goes into gear fine. Did you install your throwout bearing correctly?

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

i just put this bellhousing in and triple checked the bellhousing runout which was within specifications.

you WILL need an adjustable clutch fork pivot and use the stock clutch fork wich works great......are you using an adapter plate for the tko?

I am using the adapter plate. How do you know how much to adjust the pivot?

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

the stock t-5 pivot is approx 3/8-1/2 in longer than the lake wood pivot.......the lakewood pivot needs to be the same length for the clutch to engage/disengage properly.

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, need adj pivot?

What would be the disadvantage of the Lakewood one being shorter? Wouldn't that be a good thing as the clutch will have further travel?

So do I just install the adjustable one and adjust it all the way out?
