How do you count the splines on a tq converter?
I was sold a Edge tq converter for my 91 Camaro. Since I didn't know what I was ordering I ordered a 27 spline at the time. The guy I bought it from I called and told him what I was ordering the parts for and that I didn't have a clue if what I ordered was the the right parts for my Camaro. He told me that the tq converter needed to be a 30 spline and he would fix the order. However, after waiting 3 weeks the tq converter arrived today from Edge and since I really don't know what I'm looking at I pulled the cap off the thing and counted the grooves inside the doughnut. They total upto 27, Does this mean I have a 27 spline converter and not the 30 I was suppose to get that fits my car? I appreciate any help!!!!

The first set of splines you see looking into it, is the stator; that's not the ones that are at issue.
There's another set farther down into there, that mate with the input shaft. Count those.
