Whine in 4th Gear and reverse
I have a Whine (like tires on fresh asphalt) in 4th gear and reverse only. It gets Louder when under load (press the gas slightly), and goes away when you shift to D. It seems to change with speed and not engine revs.
-a couple times (rarely) It shudders when I come to a stop (like a manual car when you don't apply the clutch and stop) but it only last a second and fixes itself, and when I go to accelerate after this it slips for a second before engaging.
I fully rebuilt the transmission and installed a re-manufactured converter about 3k miles ago. It has been running strong since. Its a fairly stock '90 Iroc 5.7.
