700R4 identification?
I have a 700R4 core I got for the princely sum of $25, and I'm wondering about two things. First off is the actual "breed" of the transmission it came from a 1992 Caprice and the first 4 digits of the code on the pan rail are "1BBM" so Based on what I know that's believe able. I pulled the VB today, and the code on the separator is "DS."
The reason why I'm asking is I pulled the server cover and it had a GM Corvette servo already in it although that means little with the ease and commonness of them being replaced.
What I'm wondering is:
A)Is this a high perf VB or a low perf VB
B)does it have the 9C1 shift valve
C)I have another 700R from my 89 Astro here I intend to part out, it has a Transgo HD kit in it, the 9C1 shift valve and that's about it. Would I be better off to keep the VB in it or switch to this one?
