Re: Strengthening a 10bolt

That's a very old link to beefing up a 10 bolt. After spending close to $1000 to make it stronger, you still have the tiny ring and pinion teeth which will break before anything else does. For a little more money, you can buy a 9" housing package and install a junkyard third member and be better off than wasting money trying to patch a weak diff.

The 10 bolt can still take a lot of abuse. My BBC punished one on the dragstrip into the 11's before I installed a 9" however they've also been broken in a factory street car. Even after spending money trying to beef it up, you're still rolling the dice on something that will still fail.

A $3000 replacement diff is a complete, ready to bolt in, doesn't need anything else package. You can easily do it cheaper if you don't want all the best aftermarket parts on it. $1000 will buy you a 9" housing package with axles. Install your OEM brakes and drop in a junkyard center section and you're ready to go. You can upgrade stuff like brakes, posi, gears etc as funds permit later on.

Re: Strengthening a 10bolt

You could try one of these = http://www.jegs.com/i/L.P.W./619/301-7.5G/10002/-1
That way your not spending allot of money yet your getting about as much support as you can give a 10 bolt.
I have one.
Heres a link to L.P.W's home page.= http://www.lpwracing.com/
