mechanical speedometer

I own a 1992 chevy camaro rs v8 305 with an automatic transmission. Smog pump removed, and also converted to a carb (Rochester quadrajet). I did the conversion because it originally had TBI and it would just give problems left and right and wouldnt allow the car to run, after converting to carb, car has ran fine since. I am little by little retro acting the engine i guess you can say, and slowly eliminating all the ODB1 stuff. Not sure if the speedometer will continue to work, so I want to convert the speedometer to a mechanical speedometer, and not sure if its mechanical to start with or if its electronic. So i figured i might ask before I start to tear things apart, and if its electronic am i able to convert it to mechanical. I believe that my year as well was the last one where the transmission was not reliant on the computer to shift until 93. So in short am I able to put a mechanical speedometer, or not, and if so what do i need to modify (if anything has to be) to get it to work. thanks in advance

The speedometer isn't dependent on the computer.
