Questions about B&M shifter and stock cable.

I just got an used B&M shifter for our cars and I have been reading a ton of post about the install and I came across a few post where people have used there stock shifter cable instead of a new one from B&M. This greatly interest me because I have neither the jack or stands to get under my car to switch the cable. So my question is those of you who have done this or may know how to use the stuck cable please tell me what you did in detail , post pics if you can any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Questions about B&M shifter and stock cable.

The slot in the B&M bracket has to be opened up (grinder, dremel, etc) and bent towards the back of the car (pliers, channel locks) to make everything fit and line up in order to make all of the shifting operations kosher. It will take some trial and error and patience, but works out better than the aftermarket cable IMO.

Re: Questions about B&M shifter and stock cable.

Just a word of caution. The B&M cable is a heavy duty unit intended for much harder duty. The stock cable will not hold up well under hard use with a ratchet shifter.
