Grinding sound in gear at idle
Hey guys, I just got this 87 IROC with the L98 and 700r4 tranny. When driving it shifts fine and there's no noise or vibration but as soon as you slow to about 5 - 10 mph and come to a stop there's a grinding sound coming from under the car. Could this be an issue with the U-Joint or is it more likely to be the tranny or rear end?
The guy I bought the car off of said he had replaced the transmission but I don't really put a lot of stock in the quality of his work.
There's no rattling or grinding in park at all. Any ideas?

I believe this is the issue, both my 700r4 do it but I havn't gotten around to find 2 and fix them. Someone here might know where to get it and how hard it would be.

Re: Grinding sound in gear at idle
This seems plausible as the oil pressure does drop from about 35-40 psi down to 26-28 psi at idle (or so the 23 year old gauge says). I'll have to do some more investigating. Any other ideas?
